The Partisan Primary in Wisconsin

You are only allowed to vote for candidates in one party in a partisan primary. If you vote for any Democrats, you may not vote for candidates from another party for any office, or your ballot will be rejected.

Please read about the Democratic candidates vying for spots on the November 3rd ballot. The Democratic Party of Ozaukee County will endorse all Democrats who win on Aug. 11.

Make a plan to vote

  • Vote early in person July 29 through Aug. 7. That’s the best way to ensure your ballot is received and it doesn’t contain errors that could get your ballot rejected. Not every municipality has the same hours, especially on Friday, Aug. 7, so to check before voting. See where and how to vote early.

  • Or vote by mail with an absentee ballot. If you do that, mail it by Monday, Aug. 3 to ensure it arrives in time. Or, drop it off at your City Clerk’s office. Some communities don’t allow absentee ballots to be dropped at polling locations on election day. Track your mailed ballot to make sure it is received.

  • Or vote on election day, Tuesday, Aug. 11. Where to vote on election day.

  • If you are heading to college, just request an absentee ballot. Just remember that only you can drop it off, or mail it back early.

Your name may have been removed from the voting rolls if you didn’t:

  • Register after moving

  • Vote in the last 4 years

  • Correct typos on your name or birthdate

  • Respond to a mailing about your registration status
