Ozaukee Went Blue!

Tuesday night was cause for quite the celebration in Ozaukee County. Huge congratulations to the victors of Ozaukee County Board seats: Todd Ambs, Melissa Custer, Jeff Hansher, Monis Khan, Connie Kincaide, Jen Mackinnon and Dan Vogel. Kincaide also was re-elected to the Cedarburg School Board, and Vogel was elected to the Town of Grafton Board. Thank you to Wendy Freitag and Maggie Gorsuch for putting together a really fun party!
 
We had to wait a whole 30 minutes to get the results of the Wisconsin Supreme Court race after the polls closed. Ozaukee went blue for the first time since 1964, which was the last year we had a Democrat in Congress from the 6th Congressional District (CD). In fact, Chris Taylor won the 6th CD, and every other CD but the 5th. Look out, Glenn Grothman.

Perhaps we need to give some credit to President Trump for threatening Armageddon at 8 p.m. on election night. He might have caused some Republicans to stay home.
 
I called all three of our reps on Tuesday morning. The U.S. Capitol Switchboard is a really easy tool. It is a switchboard that when you call you just give them the name of the Representative you want to talk with and they connect you. The number is (202) 224-3121.
 
Don’t skip Senator Baldwin. I told them all they needed to impeach and remove Trump. To the Republicans, I said the last time you dealt with a Republican president with any integrity was Richard Nixon. You forced him to resign.
 
If I were a Republican strategist, I would be advising them that if they wanted any chance of saving face and power, they should impeach and remove Trump. Of course that will not happen, but if they want to save the midterms, that might be their only option.
 
Remember to sign up to be a delegate to the 6th Congressional Convention on May 17 at La Sure’s in Oshkosh and the WisDems State Convention June 13-14 in Madison. You have to be a member of the party, so please check your membership status.
 
Last but not least, we had a great turnout last Saturday for Judge Chris Taylor with special guests Senator Baldwin, and State Senator Jodi Habush Sinykin. I really appreciate the fact that you keep showing up, supporting the work, and of course and most importantly voting. You are the best.
